2019 TIP Office Research Funding Opportunity

Office To Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons

The TIP Office is pleased to invite organizations to submit innovative proposals to build upon existing research to explore the objectives listed in this notice of funding opportunity.

The TIP Office may fund one or more organizations to conduct research to enhance understanding and to prevent and respond to aspects of human trafficking outside of the U.S. Funded research should achieve the following outcomes: 1) increased ability of policymakers and practitioners to access rigorous research, data collection and analysis tools, and other relevant data needed to address sex trafficking and/or forced labor internationally; and 2) increased engagement of skilled, multidisciplinary, policy-oriented researchers that conduct rigorous studies on sex trafficking and forced labor issues.

TIP Office foreign assistance awards for research projects will range between $500,000 and $850,000 and be funded for up to 24 months.

Organizations eligible to apply include public international organizations (PIOs), U.S.-based and foreign nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations, and institutions of higher education. For-profit organizations are not permitted to generate profits from U.S. grant-funded activities. U.S. government agencies and foreign governments are not eligible to apply.

Proposals must be submitted via SAMS Domestic (https://mygrants.service-now.com/grants) through funding opportunity SFOP0005480 by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on January 22, 2019, to be eligible for consideration. To be competitive under this funding opportunity, applicants must be fully responsive to all directions in the Notice of Funding Opportunity.
