Together we are committed to maintaining steadfast support for Ukraine and holding Russia accountable for its unprovoked war. As NATO Allies, Latvia and the United States continue to strengthen our collective defense, resilience, and capacity to assure peace and prosperity for our citizens. We appreciate Latvia’s aid to Ukraine and welcome the generosity you have shown to refugees.
The United States is profoundly grateful to Latvia for its partnership, and leadership in promoting security and democracy. We are proud of our friendship with Latvia that has endured for over 100 years and look forward to many, many more years as friends and allies. I wish the Latvian people a joyous Independence Day and a successful year ahead.
