A group of six journalists from across Germany focusing on “LNG, Energy Security and Diversity” heard firsthand from Deputy Secretary for Energy Dan Brouillette and Under Secretary of Energy Mark Menezes about the importance of energy policy in national security. They met with from Bernhard Pötter of Spiegel Online during the meeting on May 8 at the Department of Energy headquarters in Washington, DC. Earlier, the group heard from the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources at the Department of State. In Baton Rouge, the team visited the Southwest Louisiana SEED Center where they heard about the billions of dollars of investment the region is seeing due to the energy renaissance over the last ten years.   They concluded the day with the Vice President LNG Operations at Energy Transfer in Lake Charles who gave a presentation of the facility’s transition from LNG import station to upcoming LNG export station and concluded the visit with a driving tour of the LNG facility.
