CANDIDATE: James Randolph Evans

James Randolph Evans is a distinguished attorney, author and public servant who has, since 2015, been a partner in the global law firm, Dentons US LLP, which has offices in over 90 countries. Previously, from 2003-2015, he had been a partner at McKenna, Long and Aldridge, based in Atlanta, Georgia, which merged with Dentons in 2015. Mr. Evans has served as well in both national and state government. He was Counsel to the Office of the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995-2007 and Special Attorney General, Office of the Attorney General of Georgia from 2007-2010. Mr. Evans has been a leader in both the American Bar Association and the Georgia Bar Association serving in leadership positions in both. He has co-authored 8 books and is a syndicated columnist writing on ethics, climate change and current events. His demonstrated ethical leadership in law and public service and his broad exposure to international affairs make him a well-qualified choice to serve as Ambassador to Luxembourg.

Mr. Evans worked as an Associate/Partner in the firm of Arnall, Golden and Gregory in Atlanta, Georgia from 1985-2003. Concurrently, he served as a Special Master, Georgia Supreme Court (1999-2004). He currently serves as co-Chair of the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission (2011-Present). Active in politics, he has been a Republican National Committeeman from Georgia since 2012 and chaired the Republican National Lawyers Association (2012-2016).

Mr. Evans attended West Georgia College (B.A. 1980), Carrollton, Georgia, and the University of Georgia Law School (Juris Doctor 1983), Athens, Georgia. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Republican National Lawyer of the Year, the Ronald Reagan Freedom Fighter Award, and the Outstanding Georgia Citizen.
