Cooperating members in the private sector, civil society, and academia in the United States and India work with the Alliance to advance shared commitments to support women’s economic advancement in India. They represent leaders with a commitment to advance gender equality and inclusivity.
Member On-boarding
- Step 1: Meet with leadership from the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum and the Executive Director of the U.S.-India Alliance for Women’s Economic Empowerment to discuss your vision and the Alliance’s goals and objectives.
- Step 2: Complete a member intake form enabling the State Department to initiate mandatory due diligence and vetting of your organization. Pending successful vetting, your membership request is reviewed by the Alliance’s Executive Committee.
- Step 3: Meet with Alliance partners to discuss your goals and objectives and draft a commitment letter outlining your organization’s goals and objectives under the Alliance.
Membership Benefits
Members of the Alliance have an opportunity to connect with other like-minded organizations in both the U.S. and India to build their network and inform their activities. Members also have an opportunity to expand the reach and impact of their activities or interests through conducting them under the umbrella of an Alliance with both depth and breadth of expertise on women’s economic empowerment in India.
Additional Information for Prospective Members
There is no fee to join the Alliance. Members participate in quarterly member calls and attend one or two high level events annually, in addition to communications with the Alliance Executive Director on an ad hoc basis. Each provides an annual progress report on its commitments under the Alliance.
