On January 17, 2023, the Department of State announced an agreement to settle Meyer, et al. v. U.S. Department of State, EEOC No. 531-2015-00092X, a longstanding class action pending at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) over successive administrations that challenges the Department’s Worldwide Availability requirement for career Foreign Service applicants.
