POST: U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
CANDIDATE: Joseph N. Mondello
Joseph N. Mondello, an attorney, soldier and American politician, has served as the Chairman of the Nassau County Republican Committee in Westbury, New York since 1983. From 2006-2009, he was concurrently Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee in Albany, New York. Mr. Mondello has been Of Counsel at Berkman, Henoch, Peterson, Peddy, & Fenchel, P.C. of Garden City, New York since 1997. He honorably served as an Airman in the New York Air National Guard (1955-1956), a Corporal in the U.S. Army (1956-1958) and in the New York Guard for 25 years, attaining the rank of Major General. His distinguished career in government, the military, law enforcement and education make him an excellent candidate to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Mondello also served as Of Counsel at Certliman Balin Adler & Hyman, East Meadow, New York (1994-1997), CEO at Nassau Downs, Hempstead, New York (1993-1997), Partner at Flaum, Imbarrato & Mondello, Levittown, New York (1971-1994), Assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office Trial Bureau, Mineola, New York (1970-1971), Probation Officer in the Nassau County Probation Department, Mineola, New York (1969-1971), Special Agent at the Office of Naval Intelligence, New York, New York (1965-1966), Probation Officer at the Nassau County Probation Department, Mineola, New York (1963-1965) and Secondary Teacher at East Meadow School District, Westbury, New York (1962-1963). He served as Counsel to the New York State Senate and the New York State Assembly in Albany, New York. Mr. Mondello was a Councilman and Presiding Supervisor in the Town of Hempstead, New York.
Mr. Mondello earned a B.A. from Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York and a J.D. from New England School of Law, Boston, Massachusetts.
