Entered into force May 18, 1954.

In accordance with Article 26, the Agreement shall be open for signature by Member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and shall be subject to ratification. Instruments of ratification shall be deposited with the Government of the United States of America. The Agreement entered into force for signatory States ratifying the Agreement as soon as six signatory States deposited their instruments of ratification. The Agreement comes into force in respect of each other signatory State on the date of the deposit of its instrument of ratification.
