Mark J. Eshbaugh covers energy, environment, and science issues on the Policy Planning Staff (S/P). Prior to joining S/P, Mark served as the Director for Energy at the National Security Council and the National Economic Council. Previously, he served in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research and at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. Before joining the U.S. Government, Mark spent several years working in the energy sector in California and for a research center focused on long-term forecasting and global trend analysis. Mark has a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and an M.A. from the University of Denver.
