The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations Announces the Construction Award for the New U.S. Embassy in Asuncion, Paraguay

The Department awarded Caddell Construction Co., LLC of Montgomery, Alabama the construction contract for the new Embassy in Asuncion, Paraguay.

The new Embassy complex will be constructed on the existing 14-acre Embassy site. The multi-building complex will include a chancery, Marine security guard residence, support annex, and facilities for the embassy community. The project is expected to be completed in 2021.

The architect is Zimmer Gunsul Frasca of Portland, Oregon.

As part of the Department’s Capital Security Construction Program, OBO has completed 133 new diplomatic facilities since 1999 with an additional 52 projects in design or under construction.
