The United States and Japan held the bilateral Extended Deterrence Dialogue (EDD) on June 14, in Tokyo. The EDD provides a regular opportunity for the two governments to exchange views on ways to enhance deterrence as part of our security and defense cooperation. The EDD has been held on a regular basis since 2010 and is part of a larger, continual dialogue between the two governments on deterrence issues.
