Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Steve Goldstein To Present Citizen Diplomacy Award

Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Steve Goldstein will present the Bureau of Public Affairs’ second annual Citizen Diplomacy Award to Council Bluffs (Iowa) Sister Cities Association (CBSCA) at a ceremony at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018, at the U.S. Department of State.

The Citizen Diplomacy Award was created in recognition of American citizens and organizations that exhibit leadership in generating impactful, long-term support for U.S. foreign policy objectives in public affairs and public diplomacy, showcasing innovation in working to renew and strengthen important international connections for the United States.

This ceremony will be open to the press.

Pre-set time for video cameras is 3:00 p.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.

Final access time for writers and still photographers is 3:30 p.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued photo media credential (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) an official photo identification card issued by their news organization, or (3) a letter from their employer on official letterhead verifying their current employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official government photo identification card (i.e. U.S .driver’s license or passport).
