On behalf of the people and Government of the United States of America, I congratulate the citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands as you celebrate your 44th Constitution Day on May 1.

Our two countries continue to enjoy a special relationship and partnership, exemplified by our Compact of Free Association. Marshallese citizens contribute to communities across the United States and honorably serve in the United States Armed Forces; we appreciate their contributions to our collective prosperity and security.

We also value our longstanding cooperation with the Marshall Islands, whether it be advancing our shared values at the United Nations or tackling the climate crisis. Together, we will continue our cooperation on the security, economic development, public health, and climate resilience of the Marshall Islands.

I send my warmest wishes to all people of the Marshall Islands, at home and abroad.
