Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador today in Mexico City. Secretary Blinken was joined by U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland. President López Obrador was joined by Foreign Secretary Ebrard, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection Rosa Icela Rodriguez, Secretary of the Interior Adán Augusto López Hernández, and Secretary of Defense General Luis Crescensio Sandoval. Secretary Blinken and President López Obrador discussed the importance of the U.S.-Mexico bilateral relationship and progress towards advancing our shared security interests through the High-Level Security Dialogue. Secretary Blinken thanked President López Obrador for Mexico’s coordination on a range of security and economic issues, as well as Mexico’s contributions to coordinated migration management in the region.
