Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.  The Secretary and the Crown Prince discussed the heightened tensions in the region and the need for more robust maritime security in order to promote freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.  The Secretary and the Crown Prince also discussed the need for a political solution in Libya to create lasting peace and stability, and for a transition to a civilian government in Sudan.  They agreed on the importance of working together to support regional stability and counter the Iranian regime’s destabilizing activity.
