Ambassador Jeffrey L. Eberhardt traveled to Ottawa to attend the 2019 International Partnership for Nuclear Verification (IPNDV) plenary meeting on December 3.  The Ambassador delivered remarks on the U.S. commitment to promoting nuclear disarmament verification efforts and to advancing dialogue around creating an international security environment conducive to further progress on nuclear disarmament.  He also participated in breakout sessions.

The IPNDV is concluding Phase II of its work focused on verifying declarations of nuclear weapons, verifying reductions of nuclear weapons, and identifying tools and technologies to be applied at each step of the nuclear dismantlement process.  The IPNDV brings together more than 30 states with and without nuclear weapons.  It operates under a cooperative framework to promote further understanding of the complex challenges involved in the verification of nuclear disarmament and to identify potential solutions to overcome those challenges.
