The school is able and willing to accommodate students within the following categories: physically and orthopedically impaired, autistic, specifically learning disabled, intellectually disabled, behaviorally/emotionally disturbed, multiple disabilities, speech or language impaired. Special needs support services include: teacher accommodations, teacher accommodations learning support teacher,  learning support teacher, co-teaching/team teaching in the classroom, academic support class secondary school, use of IEP and ILP.

Maximum hours per week per student for push in 6 for pull out 5. Special needs support staff in the school include: 2 nurses, 2 psychologists, 2 special needs coordinators, 3 learning support teachers, 2 guidance counselors.

Services are available in English at post for the following: psychoeducational assessment, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavior and/or autism specialist, social skills group/social skills training, US credentialed reading specialist, reading remediation, reading programs for Dyslexia, math specialist.

The American School of Belo Horizonte is an independent, nonprofit association serving students in grades PK-12 in a full day program. EABH offers the American and Brazilian curricula within an international framework accredited by Cognia and the Brazilian Ministry of Education and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization and the College Board. We are a culturally diverse community that fosters educational excellence and develops life-long learners. The 2022-2023 school year covers two semesters extending from August 01 to December 16 and from January 19 to June 09.
