In a display of our enduring friendship and important partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia John P. Abizaid, Consul General Ryan M. Gliha, and Director of the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) Addison D. “Tad” Davis IV, along with Saudi Arabian Government officials, dedicated the new U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia today.

The new campus provides a secure, modern, sustainable, and resilient platform for U.S. diplomacy in western Saudi Arabia.

DLR Group | Sorg of Washington D.C. is the design architect for the project and American International Contractors (Special Projects), Inc. (AICI-SP) of Arlington, Virginia, constructed the facility.

Since the start of the Department’s Capital Security Construction Program in 1999, OBO has completed 162 new diplomatic facilities and has an additional 51 projects in design or under construction.

OBO provides safe, secure, functional, and resilient facilities that represent the U.S. Government to the host nation and support the Department’s achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives abroad.  These facilities represent American values and the best in American architecture, design, engineering, technology, sustainability, art, culture, and construction execution.
