HomeKey Topics – Bureau of Energy Resources ...The Philippines Commits to the Clean Energy Demand Initiative’s Goals with Corporate Partners hide The Philippines Commits to the Clean Energy Demand Initiative’s Goals with Corporate Partners Bureau of Energy Resources March 15, 2022 During CERAWeek in Houston on March 9, 2022, the Philippines signed the Clean Energy Demand Initiative (CEDI) letter of intent with companies including Akamai, Amazon, Apple, Ikea, Iron Mountain, Lady Lawyer Foundation, Lululemon, Meta, Ralph Lauren, REI, RIFE International, and WeWork. Led by the Bureau of Energy Resources at the U.S. Department of State in collaboration with the Clean Energy Buyers Alliance and other stakeholders, CEDI supports countries and companies working together to advance shared clean energy goals. CEDI aims to spur private sector investment by leveraging corporate clean energy commitments and government policies to enable corporate procurement of renewable energy in leading countries such as the Philippines. The renewable energy demand from private sector partners has the potential to unlock more than two billion dollars in private sector investment in power infrastructure in the Philippines.
