The approval by the United States Senate of the protocol to the NATO treaty on the accession of North Macedonia underscores the U.S. commitment to transatlantic security and represents an important step forward in North Macedonia’s progress toward becoming a NATO Ally. We strongly support North Macedonia’s continued path toward closer integration with the Trans-Atlantic community. Yesterday’s vote reaffirmed North Macedonia’s continued dedication to democratic principles and the rule of law and contributions to peace and security throughout the region. We look forward to welcoming North Macedonia soon as the 30th NATO Ally.
